I'm still at the restaurant
FERRYMAN
Forgive the interruption. I am merely a stationary feature of the threshold, tasked with ferrying the demands of heroes as they pass through in search of relief from their tiresome journeys to the guardians of where we all stand within.
(beat)
But before I let you in, I must finish my opening speech.

Heroes! Chosen ones! Hear ye, hear ye! All 218 of you uniquely important people.
Come and gather, for we have prepared a place to your insatiable appetites.
Gorge yourselves on the fumes and flesh of the evil world to forget.
Push others out of the way for a share and demand more and more and more and more and more and more and more and more and more and more and more and more.
It doesn’t matter if you are done.
After, loiter shamelessly, taking up space so no one else can be ready for a second helping.
Outside is all bodies on bodies in bodies out bodies all angular and angry, right?
So make yourselves fat and round and joyous here.
Solidify into hard molars.
Molars of the world, ready to grind anyone down into their most basic particles.
Expose what is smallest and most vulnerable.
Make it soft enough to swallow whole.
For all is nutritious and rich in unique flavor.
Nothing is indigestible.
So come.
We are all starving.
Your table is ready!
